LittleBig Bike Review

A very unique design and application, the LittleBig Bike successfully does what others have struggled with, a top notch convertible balance-to-pedal bike. Balance Bikes have called into question the use of stabilizers/training wheels for good reason, they are simply a better way to learn. The LittleBig capitalizes on this by providing a single platform that can teach a child to balance, steer and pedal in a single great value package. Thanks to LittleBig for supplying us with a bike for this review.

The Bike Dads' Take:

"A great design that is 3 bikes in 1. The 14 inch platform allows for a wide fit range although we think the move up to a 16/20 inch is advisable between ages 5 and 6. For years 2-5 this cool machine makes a lot of sense: great convertible geometry, excellent part spec and amazing build quality offers tremendous value at $240 USD. A second shorter seat-post would be nice to lower the minimum seat height when in pedal mode but this is an easy fix on amazon for 10 bucks." -Colin

I’m having a hard time finding a first bike for my petite six-year-old (16.5″ inseam). Can you tell more about how you modified the seat post? How low can this thing go with a little DIY?

With a 16.5 inch inseam she should fit most 14 inch bikes. We would probably start there than get her on a a bigger wheel size as soon as she fits so she can keep up to friends/family. The limitations of the smaller 14in wheels as she grows will be apparent amongst her peers (she will be considerably slower when pedaling).
