2017 Most Innovative Kids' Bike Products
The last few years has been a quantum leap for kids bike gear. Gone are the days of big brand/big box hunks of steel that collect dust and rust in the garage. Aluminum frames and parts plus direct sales channels have brought prices in to reasonable territory (although non biking parents still freak). Finally gear head parents have options to get their kids shredding with them early and safely. Leading the charge are entrepreneurial parents and companies that see the market opportunities and make it happen. Here are our picks for the 4 most innovative products launched in 2017 (in no particular order).
Tow Whee Kids
This simple & lightweight tow strap works great stand alone with no accessories. It contains a high stretch bungee cord inside an ultra strong hollow webbing. It only weighs 5 oz. & has been designed to keep the strap from dangling to the ground/wheels while adding a very soft feel to the second rider so there is never a harsh jerk at the end. The bungee cord itself is designed to pull a 40-100 lb. rider. At max length it is 15'/180" and only 4.6'/56" relaxed. This will help you tackle larger rides together with younger riders. We have one and carry it on all rides. It's so great to use when the kids hit the wall and can't climb hills on their own.
